Admissions Requirements

Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT)

The Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) Program is a unique, 24-month airplane maintenance training program that meets a critical need for highly skilled technicians in airframe and power plant repair and certification—including full FAA Certification.

Upon completion of the 48 General, Airframe, and Powerplant credits, students will be eligible to sit for the FAA licensing examinations. Each student will require an additional 22/23 credits of general education to earn the Associate in Applied Science degree. Start dates are offered in the Spring (January), Summer (May), and Fall (September).

Information Sessions

Aviation Maintenance Technology Information Sessions are required for all applicants to this program. The AMT Recruiter will share up-to-date information about the program and answer questions about the curriculum and the admissions process. One-hour tour sessions include a in-depth program overview followed by a guided tour of the training facility. Sessions are offered in-person and virtually via Zoom.

Application Procedures

Aviation Maintenance Technology applications are accepted on an open-enrollment basis. Once the enrolling class has been selected, a waitlist of students will be created in chronological order and maintained until the first day of class in each semester. Interested applications must submit the following materials to be considered for enrollment:

  • Admissions Application form
  • Official High School Transcript is required for students who have graduated from high school within the past ten (10) years.
  • Attendance of an Information Session

Note: Your application will be considered incomplete until all materials are received. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed for admission.

Upon acceptance, accepted students must meet the following prerequisite prior to beginning the AMT General Module (AMT101):

  • Completion of ENL108 Critical Reading and Thinking or satisfactory basic skills assessment score on the ACCUPLACER® Test
